OPEG is the General Partner of the Neguaquon Lake Hydro Development Projects Limited Partnership (NLHDPLP). As the General Partner, OPEG is the development and operations arm of the NLHDPLP and is authorized and responsible for engaging and managing development and operations activities through various consultant and or contract relationships. NLHDPLP is a partnership between the Lac La Croix First Nation and Chafam Premiere Inc. (a shareholder of Chant Construction Limited). Chant Construction Limited (CCL) is the managing entity within Ojibway Power and Energy Group (OPEG), the General Partner (management arm) of NLHDPLP.
Lac La Croix First Nation The Lac La Croix First Nation (LLCFN) occupies the Neguaquon Lake Reserve, which is located 320km west of Thunder Bay. The community is bordered by Lac La Croix Lake to the south, the Namakan River and wilderness lands to the west, and Quetico Provincial Park to the north and east. The Reserve land base is approximately 2489ha of which approximately 1502ha is inhabited. The community is home for some 400 members, of which approximately 276 live on the reserve. Chant Construction Limited Chant Construction is a full service program management and construction company dedicated to providing heavy civil engineering infrastructure design and/or construction services to both private and public sector organizations. The Company specializes in hydroelectric power generation facilities, bridges; utilities related undertakings (sanitary sewer and sewage treatment, storm water, water supply and pipelines), water control structures, and earth fill dams.
